Regattas Resuming

29er Enthusiasts: Regattas are resuming this year! None of this is official until the NORs and registration links go up on the website: US29er.org. While you are on the website please renew your membership (required at major events).
With 42 regattas and clinics on the website, there is something for everyone in the next year. There is a Western circuit, kicking off this weekend with the Midwinters West in San Diego and including three Olympic Class Regattas as well as races in Santa Barbara and The Gorge.

There is a Northeastern circuit, with events every weekend in June in RI! The Wickford RegattaBrooke Gonzalez Clinic (applications due March 31), SkiffGen RI, and US Nationals at Roger Williams University. (In the unlikely event that there is a registration cap at Open Worlds this event will be the qualifier for the US Team.)

Is Rhode Island too small to find on a map? Look about 63.6 miles from Logan, Boston airport or 33 miles from T.F. Green, Providence airport. Hotel and other accommodations in the Bristol area: Dormitories at RWU, easy walk to the Sailing Center and dining hall are available for about $35/night single and $50/night double. http://www.explorebristolri.com/places-to-stay  Watch this space for information about charter boats and the NOR.

There is a Southern circuit, which many of you have been enjoying, so put it on your calendar for next month, then again for 2022. Kudos to Developmental Coach of the Year Phil Muller for putting on the SkiffGen series. Finals next month in Miami.

Sail Fast,

Richard Feeny
